Best Authority
Levit & James Inc.'s Best Authority software can now be used to create a
Table of Points and Authorities within a litigation brief. State courts of
appeals in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Oklahoma require attorneys to
provide the listings of citations inside the Table of Contents and not in
a separate Table of Authorities. In Illinois, the combined listing is
called a table of Points and Authorities.

The Best Authority software can generate a
traditional Table of Authorities, or can merge the citation listing into
the document's Table of Contents.

CaseWorth 2.0
CaseWorth 2.0 helps personal injury, medical malpractice, social security
and worker's compensation attorneys manage the financial data aspects of
their cases. The upgrade includes document management of scanned medical

CompuLaw
California-based CompuLaw (www.compulaw.com), which offers calendar/
docket software with built-in court rules databases, reports that it has
added the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board's New Institution Order rules
to CompuLaw Vision, its U.S. Patent and Trademark database. The company
also reports that it has updated its Trademark Inter
Partes Proceedings rules database, with procedural changes for opposition,
cancellation and concurrent use proceedings.
Index Engines
New Jersey's Index Engines Inc. (www.indexengines.com) reports that its
new Automated Tape Extraction Module automatically recognizes the backup
application used to archive data on tape. The module helps users with
direct indexing and searches for responsive files and e-mail.
SmartDraw.com
SmartDraw.com has launched an online Encyclopedia of Business Graphics,
located at www.smartdraw.com/eobg.
The searchable encyclopedia features a variety of charts, diagrams,
schematics, and illustrations, including legal graphics, says SmartDraw.
The service provides downloadable templates for crime scenes, accident
reconstruction, flowcharts, timelines, and project schedules, the company
reports. Each template can be modified using SmartDraw.com's graphics
